Since the early 1970s Tri Delta’s chosen philanthropy has been Children’s Cancer Charities. This philanthropic cause encompasses a wide array of charitable organizations and represents the collective effort of Tri Delta’s members and chapters across the United States and Canada who continue to donate goods, volunteer time and host fundraisers for the research and treatment of children with cancer.
In 1999, Tri Delta formed a national philanthropic partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This partnership provides our members with wonderful opportunities to grow as individuals and leaders as we help children LIVE, scientists LEARN, and St. Jude LEAD in its mission of finding cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
In July 2014, Tri Delta made the largest single fundraising commitment of $60 million in 10 years — the single largest fundraising commitment in St. Jude’s history, and received prominent recognition by having the short-term housing facility named Tri Delta Place.
A combined effort of our collegiate and alumnae chapters, along with the unselfish leadership of each individual member and our extensive network of family and friends, makes Tri Delta ranked as one of St. Jude’s top corporate partners alongside for-profit industry leaders like Target, Best Buy, Chili’s, FedEx and Domino’s.
New Goal Announced!
In July of 2014, after raising $15 million in just 3.5 years, St. Jude CEO, Rick Shadyac, announced Tri Delta's newest fundraising goal. This commitment to St. Jude will make Tri Delta St. Jude's NUMBER ONE fundraising partner. Tri Delta has committed to the largest ever donation of $60 million in 10 years to name the on-campus short-term housing facility Tri Delta Place. Every family who comes to St. Jude will stay their first night in Tri Delta Place, creating for them a shelter in the midst of confusion and desperation. We cannot wait to provide this housing to our friends at St. Jude and to get started on our goal of raising $60 million in 10 years!
