Delta Delta Delta

Theta Omega Chapter at The University of Kansas

Letter from the VP of Membership

Hello everyone!

My name is Kelby Clements and I am the Vice President of Membership for Tri Delta at KU.  Going into my freshman year of college I did not go through recruitment. I thought it would for sure not be for me. I went my whole freshman year wishing I had gone through recruitment, and decided the next year I would go through. When I went through recruitment I was super nervous since I would be a year older than everyone else. I quickly realized that one of my top choices was Tri Delta. Everyone that I met through recruitment, and as my time as a member has made me realize that I was meant to be in this chapter. The women here are so welcoming, and so different in many amazing ways that I feel at home when I am with them. I hope the best for you in any chapter that you join here at the University of Kansas.

My biggest piece of advice is that you realize that this week is as crazy for you as it is for every chapter here. We are just as nervous as you are for this hectic week, and we want you to just be yourself. The most important thing during recruitment week is that you find the chapter that you fit with the most. These are the women you will be spending four of your best years with, and it is an important decision, but also a really great one! You need to just stick with how you feel about the chapters, and go with your gut feeling. This is your choice, and so makes sure you really listen to yourself during this week. Not everything during this week will go smoothly, and just remember to trust the process. Everything works out for a reason, and you will end up in a great chapter!

All of us at Tri Delta really hope that you have a great recruitment week, and that your time at KU is a great one. If you have any questions feel free to ask, and also Panhellenic is a great resource. I can’t wait to meet all of you, and best of luck!
