St. Jude truly is known as Tri Delta's Hospital. The children there know us as the "triangle girls." It is not unusual to be stopped by a stranger while wearing your letters and be asked about our commitment to St. Jude, or to be thanked for our philanthropic work. Many members of our chapter have been personally thanked by strangers whose own child, sister, cousin or friend has been treated at St. Jude. We invite you to take a look at our annual events that help raise money for this incredible hospital where no child is turned due to a family's inability to pay.
"No child should die in the dawn of life..."- Danny Thomas, Founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Each Spring, our chapter hosts an event where we invite all people on campus to come and eat pancakes with us. Members of the chapter mix the batter, cook the delicious pancakes and get to know the people who come to the event. This is always such a fun event for the members as well as those who attend. We crank up the music, pour the maple syrup and have a really great time raising money for our kiddos at St. Jude.
This letter writing event is how nearly 70% of all of Tri Delta's money is raised across the nation. Each member of the chapter writes 40 letters to people they know who may be interested in donating money to St. Jude. We always listen to some fun music and stuff our faces with delicious snacks while writing our letters together.
Candy Canes for a Cure
Our chapter started a new tradition this year, where we set up a table in front of Wescoe Hall and sell candy canes for $1 to raise money for St. Jude. Our girls love being social and meeting new people through a good cause, and it's a fun way to put people in the holiday spirit!
